
| Animated film is a charming, enchanting, unique, and specific art direction, whose film, art and musical language allows the creator to bring to life his unlimited imagination, and at the same time, offers the viewer some kind of message into reflection and consideration, the feeling of the story…. Animated film is an art, interesting from the aspects of the media, film, and art education, mainly because it is opening the great opportunities for the interdisciplinary integration. And since we are living in the audiovisual culture, it is right to stimulate and encourage its understanding, as well as the development of critical thinking about it, which is the prerequisite for the active and creative participation in today’s society. Therefore, animated film is the integral part of this process. Through discussions and practical work, participants become aware of how animated film is made, which techniques exist, what equipment do they need to create an animated image out of the arts material, and last but not least, the various use of different intertwining skills… We are organizing animated film workshops and learning about the optical toys for children, youth, and other interested public throughout the year, at schools in Slovenia, at various festivals and other events, at colonies and elsewhere. Since 2006, through workshops, we have introduced the art of animated film to over 5000 children. |
Free Elephant workshops at ANIMATEKA festival IN LJUBLJANA WEEK ANIMATED FILM WORKSHOP, December 6th to December 10th, every day form 16.00 to 19.00, for children of ages 8 to 15, Mediateka in Oton Župančič Library. Mentor at the workshop will be Rebecca Morse, French author and mentor from AAA studio. Two-hour animation workshop for children December 11th, 12.00–14.00, Oton Župančič Library, Ljubljana and December 12th, 11.00–13.00, Kinodvor Coffee shop, Ljubljana. IN MARIBOR Two-hour animation workshop for children December 18th, 16:00–18:00, 4+, Naskov Dvorec Mansion, Maribor. Festival workshops are free of charge, but there is a limited amount of places available, so you will need to apply for the workshop beforehand at slon@animateka.si. Optical Toys Workshop, 3+ What: Producing of optical toys with the children or making a short animation experiment. For whom: Mainly suitable for preschoolers and students of the fist triad of elementary school. Objectives: Children learn about the basics of animation and making of optical toys. Workshops are adapted to the children’s age level. Animated Film Workshop, 8+ What: Developing plot, script, characters, and scenery, as well as making of a short animated film. For whom: Mainly suitable for students from the 3rd class of elementary school, secondary school students, teachers and other interested public. Objectives: Participants learn about the animation techniques, the process of creating animated film, computer programmes for recording and editing of sound and image. They also learn about the importance of group work. Animated Film Production Workshop, 9+ What: Developing plot, script, characters, scenery, and sound. Then follows the making and editing of a short animated film. For whom: Suitable for everyone who desires more knowledge about the animated film. Previous knowledge of the animation basics is desirable but not essential. Objectives: Participants learn about the process of creating the animated film, as well as how to use computer programmes for recording, and editing of sound and image. |
